Default Shock droop

How do you measure shock droop? would you measure from top shock mount to bottom shock mount or more like onroad with measuring blocks?

Looking for a neutral set up to start with on astro (driving in Kampenhout Belgium).
Currently a bit lost in getting a good set up (or is it maybe the gear dif that I put in and does not work like I like it?!)
Thanks!!
