but its not that longer, only 3mm or so
i think the sc chassis is 4 cm longer, how about that xDD but seriously will it work with a sc chassis or will it be toooo long ??

Ummm yeah, there is a reason why all aftermarket 22 chassis' are actually shorter. You see people who do better than the J main actually know how to design things that work. Go ahead and try it, while your wasting money you might as well buy a 22SC chassis and try that too as the 3mm change in length will probably be to small for you to feel. However the SC chassis will be a big enough change for the worse that even J mainers might be able to tell the difference.

It was a valid question, especially since a lot of drivers/manufacturers have run longer chassis as a tuning aid. The aftermarket chassis plates being shorter doesn't necessarily mean they are an improvement over the stock 22 chassis in every condition, also TLR team drivers stick with stock parts and their results are good enough. Being World Champion yourself you should know this, just a shame you haven't got a World Champion attitude |

The original question was has anyone tried a longer chassis ! (Which you seem to have a problem with) And then you yourself have just said " people have no doubt tested different lengths " |

And wouldn't you have thought the TLR engineers would have tried a variety of wheelbases before settling on the one they did, especially having had experience with shorter wheelbased cars in the past? Quote:
But since those team drivers have access to everything wouldn't you have thought one of them might (just maybe) have tried one, or maybe someone else here? That's all the poor guy was asking. |

truck chassis texsting
to answer the question yes have tried the truck chassis on buggy it was minimium difference std chassie was about a sec over a 6 min run faster on clean runs car seemed to have justa tad more difficulty rotating cener off on conner .on astro turf mid motor configuration car was extremly tight off and just didnt respond well lap times were bout a second a lap off and yes on astro turf did try the short wheel base chassis and found it to be about a half sec a lap faster did not try shorter version on dirt in rear motor

In mid motor might the truck chassis help to move the weight balance rearwards? Which could give a little more forwards drive and more space for the electrics but would make the car lazy in the bends which was my understanding for going to a shorter chassis?!
I know when I have tried a long wheel base on my 22 it makes the car extremely stable, but you do lose a little drive in mid motor configuration, it also makes it feel sluggish when wanting to make quick direction changes. It's not going to be the same as changing chassis but may give you an idea to if it is worth trying, without having to spend any money.

putting a sc chassis on a buggy just looks so crazy I'd never actually run it (yes, thats an aluminum DESC210 chassis I made on my buggy to test fit it before delivering it, I never ran it like that though)
Would that work, probably not, but when it looks so stupid, why even bother, and just to compare lengths vs the stock length

I tried for so long to get the car to work with the stock chassie without much success. It came to the point that I considered selling the car. I bought a 5mm shorter chassie from RCRD and it's soo much better now. And no, I'm no teamdriver
