Adding weight to the Supastox
I need to add weight to my Supastox (approx 30g under weight)
At the moment i've added a bit to balance the weight of the ESC, but i need to add another 20g. I fitted the lighter alloy axle so i think i need to keep the weight towards the back. So i have a choice of adding it just behind the lipo on the chassis, or underneath the motor/axle on the pod. What's the consensus on where to add weight in this area, sprung on the chassis, or unsprung on the pod? |

Always on the chassis (sprung), always on the centre line and always between the axles. That way the weight adds to the load on the wheels, and doesn't have too much impact on the ability of the car to turn.
Alloy axle is not my choice, it will bend easily in a shunt. Better to go back to the steel one and then re-check the weight. HTH |

In my opinion the supastox is a heavy car and mine is now transformed with the excess weight lost. |

Thanks for that
Before i used the alloy axle i was 940, with the alloy axle i'm 920g. That's with LRP lipos (150g) It's hard to get the weight on the centre line though, i'll have to have another look at where i can add it. I might make up some thin brass weights to sit in the cell slots. |

Very nice mark.im on independent front so that weighs a bit more. I have in mine dynamite motor.nosram v2 on thin short wires.savox 1250.ko micro reciever.thunder power cells.car runs carbon lipo strap bits shaved and removed, alloy body post, alloy rear diff axle.
It's was very heavy when I first got it but been tweaking it for last 5 Months and think now I've got the handling just right can't wait for national next week end, first ever so hope I do ok. |

really, under 950gramms.
I had always though that the SSS was 1kg with lipo and BL gear as standard out of box. This was highlighted as the GT12 and oval have two different weights so we went through some tests on out of the box weight. So my questions is, what have you done to bring the weight down close to GT12 950g. Cheers |
