Tm2 v1 or v2 ?
Hi all, I bought a tm2 v1 some time ago and ran it once or twice but never really liked it. I recently rebuilt it and changed the setup quite a lot and decided to run it. It was very very good on our local carpet track where I normally race. I was shocked too see how fast it actually was and how easy it was to be fast with. My question is this......
Is the v2 any better and worth buying ?. I have little experience of the hybrid style cars and wondered if I would actually notice any difference in terms of handling and overall pace over the v1. Can anyone tell me in which ways the car has been improved in terms of handling etc. thanks all. |

There was no belt in my car at the National and I qualified 6th in the A-main with the TM2v2. Could have been higher had it not been for a few school boy errors.
I never raced the V1, but can honestly say the V2 is fantastic. So much forward traction for a front motor shaft car, but with the nice predictable steering of a 2wd. I've been told V2 is more responsive, maybe slightly harder to drive due to the shorter chassis but faster once you get the hang of it. Great car in my opinion and you would not be disappointed. There is no V3 car from Team C at this current time.
Some people have tried their own version which they have made themselves, purely just to see what it's like, but this is nothing to do with Team C. The TM2v2 has only been out for just over a year and is the current car of choice on high grip. I've only been with the team since October last year and find the TM2v2 awesome, along with the other cars and Absima electrics. Craig Collinson. |

Sorry to hijack but I'm wondering if people use the SB shocks and BB springs instead of the BB?
If so why? And is the front shaft in the 2wd the same length as the tm4? What are the big difference between the 1+2? Just the shorter chassis? |

Hi,
I'm not sure about the BB springs being used on SB shocks, I use BB shocks and springs on all my cars. The prop shaft on the TM2v2 is a different length than the TM4. It's shorter as the motor is further back on the TM2 with it being a 2wd. The main difference between the TM2v1 and TM2v2 is the chassis and rear end. The front is exactly the same on all Team C cars, but the TM2v2 chassi is 10mm shorter than the V1 and it shares exactly the same rear end as the TM4 (shock tower, wishbones, suspension hangers, hubs, wing mounts etc). Makes sense to do this, especially if you run both the TM2v2 and TM4. Craig. |

I’ve just brought a V2 and was running a V1 for about 2 years.
I’ve ran both cars back to back and the V2 is quicker but can be a little twitchy. I find the V1 to be more consistent but this may be just down to my setup or being less familiar with the V2. For me the main benefit of the V2 is how much easier the car is to work on, the V1 is a real pain. I would recommend the V2 over the V1 |

i have both. I feel the v2 is faster, like others have said, it is a bit twitchier but i found the rotation better with the shorter chassis. i did the shock tower mod that allows you to mount the shocks on the rear side of the tower and rear of the arms to settle it down a bit.
v1 up top, v2 bottom (before tower mod)

Belt tm2
I know it's been mentioned before but I was wondering if anyone had any insight in how some if the team had converted their tm2 to use belt drive instead of shaft drive ?.
