Default Simon Moss wins a rained-out Kidderminster 2WD National

Simon Moss made his long awaited return to national glory this weekend - taking the final round of the 2WD BRCA 10th off road national series at Kidderminster.

Simon took the overall TQ in a meeting that was always in a race against the weather forecast. The final two heats of qualifying were subject to torrential rain - with the final heat not having a single car finish the run. The track quickly flooded and there was no way things could continue so the finals were dropped and the results from qualifying were used instead. So whilst it wasn't the way he'd want to take the victory - it was still a solid result for Simon who was clealy on top form with his Schumacher Cougar SV2.

The overall championship in the 2WD event had already been decided at the previous round - where Lee Martin's score in the series became unbeatable. More news on this and the rest of the results of the series will be in the oOple report coming soon.

Jimmy, did you get any photos of the cars and marshals in the heavy rain? I can't imagine you were out in the rain with you camera.
If not, do you want some that I took from the commentators tent to put into your race report?

I've attached a couple, see what you think?

Would love some mate - do you want to email me some or I can supply an FTP address if you have lots?

Photos of extremes are great - I left the track when it started raining lightly because there was no sun. When I saw it raining like MAD I put my hoodie on and jumped out of the tent only to be beaten back by the downpour and superman-jump back into the tent.

So I never managed to get any photos of the madness Really gutted but didn't fancy breaking my camera again now I've just got it back.

FTP would be good. I've got about 460 meg of wet photos, lots are trash (blurred and half cars from bad panning, etc). Either I can sort out the best 10 or so and send them or I can let you have the lot and you can sort if you prefer? I have a few of the kids playing the puddles too!

This one might be of use to you too? (a stitch of 3 wide angle images from rostrum taken Fri morning). I know you like extreme wide.

Nice one mate - I never managed to get a photo of the track on Saturday - I wanted to do it before finals since we got there late, but obviously some rain came down and I ended up writing stuff instead in the shelter of my tent

I've sent you some FTP details - let me know if this is ok.
