Default Spektrum help

This may have been answered before but I was wondering on there compatibility with older spektrum receivers. Basically I have a Spektrum Dx4s and being DSMR I was wondering if anyone knew if I can use the older SR3500 receivers which were the older DSM. And weather this micro type of receiver would be ok to use in my 4wd as electric space if very limited and if it has limitations if I do use it? Please help

Hello,
I have this type of transmitter, I am using the original firmware as this is backwards compatible I have found, but once updated it will not bind to the older receivers. the early firmware does have a bind bug, in that when you turn it on and the car it does not bind, simple work around is use the model select change to any other model then back again, it then normally works all okay, quicker than re - binding

I have a Dx4s that is DSMR but backwards compatible to Dsm2... So, it will work with the later sr3520 micro recvr but NOT with sr3500 which is DSM.
