Default Should I upgrade from my xb4 2wd to a xb2 17 ???

I race weekly on a very tight small indoor carpet track. I've owned the xb4 2wd for a few years now and absolutely love it! It seems perfect for the track, with it's tight hair pins and is set up like a dream...real pleasure to drive. I love how the xb4 2wd has so much steering due to the forward motor position and at the same time is stable and predictable when the shocks are mounted rear.

The question is should I upgrade to an xb2 17??
The old car is just that, getting a bit dated (2013). Although well looked after and has more years left in her I'm sure.

Ideally looking for opinions from drivers of both cars.

Thanks in advance.

It's one them.
Am you making a finals and winning against the new models. Then no keep winning .
If you like the new car and want be like most people with new toys buy it.
Will it make you faster. Yes maybe.

Yeah A finals at weekly club level. Beating some new cars, including a few xb2's on occasion!! There is never much between us lap time wise.

Guess the question is what is better suited to a carpet, small tight track...new xb2 or old xb4 2wd? I don't race on any other surface/track regularly.

Has the motor position of the new car (much more to the rear) had any negative effect to corner speed (compared to the old car) on carpet?

Thanks again

Good idea, they don't turn up every week but next time will see if I can have a few laps.

The xb2 is a far more versatile car than the xb4 2wd and certainly a good car on carpet.
Spares and advice will certainly favour the current platform.
Driving somebody else's car although it will give you a bit of an idea about the car, won't give you the full picture, since their setup won't necessarily by right for you.
Ultimately it comes down to how much you want a new toy and how tired your existing car is.

Had a few laps on a xb2 17 carpet edition last Thursday and WOW is all I can say! Like night and day, better in every way. So much more nimble and precise. Ordered one yesterday
