Default Bodyshell foam washers

I tend to rub foam washers on my TC bodies just to get them a little more snug on the posts and to protect the paint a little bit. I picked up some Schumacher ones some time ago but have now run out. I know they’re only cheap anyway, but am I missing a trick.....is there some ‘non-branded’ alternative that I can pick up that does the same job?

Along with that, I’ve also set this shell slightly further forward and I’d like to add a thin strip of foam to the front of the bumper to close the gap a bit. Is there any recommendations for a supplier for this?

You can also run corn plaster which are also foam and can be picked up from any chemist or internet. You will find they wor as good as the foams may need 2 instead of 1 for the thickness though .

I honestly expected a list of replies saying “use ‘x’” or “use ‘y’”.....obviously not really the case, although the corn plasters are worth bearing in mind!

Cheers!

Tap washers (i.e. plumbing supplies) are rubber and the right size (but not self adhesive so you tend to lose them).

I got a bundle of self adhesive foam from one of the trade stalls at a model show years ago - it wasn't modelling specific - it shouldn't be too hard to find. The self adhesive body washers are die cut and don't have a common alternative that I know of.
