Default g/day mate

rocketrob you seem to do the same thing all the time mate.you go on a section with the intension of winding people up,then when someone has a go back at you,you bite and snap back at them.you always want to turn the topic into an arguement but you always come out of it worse.g/day cobber.

Anyway, just bought a few different tyres to try
I'm liking the look of the losi step pins, proline road rage and bow ties
anyone tried any of the above on carpet?

I've tried the bow ties on an rc18 and from memory they gripped a little too well on carpet (grip roll) but on the polished floor/wood they were appalling, the standard tyres offered the best compromise accross the different surfaces.
Depends on your local track though, if it's all carpet they could be the way to go.
Although, I haven't tried the other tyres you've got.

Chris,

The standard RC18T pins will work very very well on carpet for sure.

Back in the "good ol' days" when the RC18T was at the fore front of micro racing we all used to run the standard pins front and back on carpet

The added advantage is that there is little to trim off if you want to tune the handling of the car using the tyres

I see no point in trying to respond to someone in which English is their second language, and thus can't write a cohesive sentence or isn't somehow else making a weird off-topic personal reference.
And I see no reason to defend my race record against someone that has won NOTHING!

step pins are great, and will prob provide the best balance between the carpet and slippy.

the bow ties will be great if we end up on a dirt track this year, but seem to be lacing i grip on the slippy sections.

road rage, never tried em, but if they behave like the losi street meats then they will be a pretty good balance on oth surfaces.

Default rc18 pins

would i be better with the wider 18t tyres on the front of my 18b,or stick with the original 18b narrow ones?.

The thinner fronts will make it feel a little more 'direct' i'm led to believe, however bear in mind that the thinner tyres seem to have a harder sidewall which can promote understeer

I always felt that I had a touch too much steering with the wider tyres but some understeer with the narrow.
I'd much rather have too much!

Default Inserts

I don't know what inserts I'm currently running on my Shark, as I ripped them out of some RP30BGL's, but was wondering what was good? I've got plenty of white and yellow rally blocks now, and some grey schuey inserts (they sent me 5 rather than the 40 I ordered, so I'm guessing they either made a mistake, or only had 5 in stock).

I run blue inserts in mine, but the grey moulded inserts are apparently top notch.

Default my fault

after being pm-ed by someone, i only then realised that i "espana" had been sending offensive post to rocketrob.after a email to rob explaining what had happened he accepted my apology and just asked me to do a kwik post here.i also believe sdlmodels was mentioned as well, sorry again.this is the 2nd time this as happened, the 1st one being on a coon cat thread.i think it is only fair that if any mod reads this i would be grateful if they could delete me from there members list,so espana cannot post again.on a personal note i only look on oople in the "for sale" section and the "1/18th" section.so from now on i will just stick to uk-microrc.many regards-eddie

No need to restrict yourself to one forum or one section. Change your password if you think someone else has access to your account, which it sounds like it is (ps it's sld, not sdl - have some people even thinking it's sod. Made me think I should be doing a sodoff offer - You buy one, you can sod-off, I say you buy one etc.)
