Looks like the layshaft pivots around the idler gear and swings up/down to set the mesh - then secured by the 2 screws on the opposide side to the spur.

I had a brief look and it looks like the layshaft can rock back and forward in an arc so it keeps gearbox meshed while moving the spur relative to the motor.

Im not a hater, I probibly going to get shot or frowned on for saying this but im more excited about the Schumacher 2wd

X-Factory have clearly set the standard for the 'New era' 2wd format / layout.

Good luck though Durango...

The DEX210 kinda reminds me of the AC S2 in its layout....and the S2 is RC porn as well

As I decide on the new Schumacher this is announced! Perfect timing and of course this looks incredible. Will have to wait till Schumacher releases details on their buggy now. But the gearbox design is great, wonder how it will handle...

Well I am glad to hear for that reason. I would be tempted with the Schuie, but the parts are so expensive in Australia compared to the TD parts.

Owning a 410 now, I am thrilled to hear that 2wd will be coming. I'll def pick one up as soon as the production version is out. But how long will that be...?

Well, if it takes as long as the 4wd, you might as well buy a Schumacher now.

I really like the look of this thing! Amazing engineering!

But I have a couple of questions:

-when you reverse the whole gearbox, then the motor will spin the wrong way? You'd need a 4 & 3 gear solution in order to "get the best of both worlds? Or am I missing something? (Is the motor and spur "reversed left/right" as well then?)

-and why not simply but ballast in the rear for more grip? It shouldn't have to be necessary to move the motor...

It wasn't made by Schumacher, it was a man called Mike Barton of Fabbix batteries and I think Craig Harris did the development.
