Default 1 or 2 cell???

Hi Guys,

OK, I'm almost fully sorted.

I've bought two V12's, 60Amp ESC 13T brushless combo's and Savox 1215MG servos. I'm just stuck on li-op's.

My club have no rules for running these cars, so anything goes. I'm hoping 13T is to much, so I can turn the throttle curve down (like I do on my 10th buggy). The 60Amp ESC means it can be used with other stuff if I want.

So the last thing I need to get sorted is what number cells to run, 1 or 2s ?? With the 13T fitted at 100% throttle will 1s be under powered ? If yes, I'll go 2s and turn the power down.

I'm hoping 1s will be more than enough as it means I can buy half the number of packs I need, because I'll be buying saddle packs. I don't like charging on club day, so I take all the packs I need for the day charged and ready to go

Thanks.

Rob.

2's lipo would have been better but 4cell nimh would be just as good for what you plan to use.
Just make shure you look after nimh's by equalising every now and then and they should last you years.
mine are onto 2 and a half years racing twice / three times a week
so all in all 800+ races

This is why I asked before I spent nearly £200, but nobody replied after a day, so I just went for what I thought might be best. Never mind, I'm sure they will be worth about a tenner on Ebay !

I spoke to Mardave today and asked, 2s is doable, but you are looking at 17.5 or 21.5 brushless.

2 cell 21.5 brushless is very close to 1 cell 13.5 performance wise

So if 1s on a 13.5T is like a 2s on 21.5T, a 4.8 'C' on a 13T should be quick enough and give a little extra weight on the rear?

Yeah 4 cell will be a bit faster as they charge up to about 6v, and lipo 1s only gets to 4.2v. The more volts the faster a motor spins. I swtiched to brushless and ran my 4cells for a few weeks, and when i finally got a 1s lipo it wasnt as quick. Kind of annoying seeing as my club has no rules regarding timing so everyone with a boosted speedo goes alot quicker.
