Question Different Wheels Tyres?

Guys,

I bought a Wild Lander 1:10 Subaru for my 3yr old for Christmas.

I know nothing about the hobby (other than I now want a decent one for myself) and appreciate this car is nothing more than a toy but I wondered if I could change the tyres or tyres and Wheels.

Everytime we've taken it out, it spends most of its time sliding. When the battery starts to drain, its easy for him to drive. When the battery has full power, it just drifts from side to side.

See pic's attached. Can I swap out tyres for something that have better grip?

Thanks in advance
Stace

They look roughly the same size as my Touring car wheels. The trouble is getting them off, I can't see the wheel nut properly but it doesn't look a normal one ? Also it depends how they're mounted on the rear of the wheel.

The ones I use have a hex shape on the back that goes over a hex drive nut, this is all held in place my the wheel nut. You'd probably do okay if you popped along to your local model shop and explained the situation to them, show them the car, they can see if the wheel will come off and if they have what you need in stock.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Ian.

I'll also whip a wheel off to take a look behind. Its not actually a nut, looks like a standard cross thread screw!!

Default Shops in Portsmouth Area

Guys,

I've promised the boy I'll have him some new wheels and tyres for the morning but despite looking all over Yell, I'm struggling to find a RC shop in the Portsmouth and surrounding area.

I've found plenty of Train, Plane specific but nothing for cars...

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Hi

If you do manage to get the current wheel off then post a picture of the inside of the wheel and someone might be able to suggest an alternative.

If you are really lucky and it is a standard touring car hex then you are going to be spoilt for choice in terms of wheels and tyres.

In terms of finding a good Rc car shop in Portsmouth you are going to struggle apart from the general model shops that might have the odd kit in stock. No offence to them but they may struggle to help you with a solution.

If you are willing to travel then RC Lazy in Bournemouth and Reality Racing in New Milton (just google the names for details) are both run by racers who I am sure would be able to help.

Failing any of that if you let me know I can be at the TORCH track (details in my signature sign thingie) next weekend (22nd) and can bring some touring car wheels and see if they fit. If you are interested in starting racing yourself you ought to come and see us anyway as we have the best local track

Good Luck

Rob

Hi Guys,

Pictures attached. Looks like the Hex is 10mm. Wheel looks to be 50mm, 63mm with Tyre.

I'm hoping I can pay through the nose online and get some here for the morning?

Any recommendations or pointers?

Thanks in advance
