Yokomo Works 91 steering help
Hi guys. My mate is racing his Works 91 (cell slots in a slight V shape) and his having a bit of an issue with the steering. He cannot get a great deal of steering lock, and it looks to have the opposite of ackerman where the outside wheel turns more than the inner one. The steering rods angle back a fair bit from the inside on the bellcranks, towards the steering arms. I am sure I have seen later cars with a seperate drag link connected to the bellcranks, which looks to keep the steering tie rods more parallel with the wishbones.
The car is built correctly, and set up as best we can do. Can anyone give some advice on what we can do to improve it? Cheers |

The 91/92 normally have a rod like this
You can get a track rod like I've got on my WCS you can find them in G10 or carbon

Thanks for the pics. It looks very similar to the top pic, with a wire link in between the bellcranks. He has metal steering hubs with what may be longer arms compared to the pic. That may account for the sweep back angle on the steering track rods, and the lack of lock. Are your track rods roughly parallel with the wishbone?

Gray they are pretty much, you need to centralise it all and get everything squared up then take it from there. Get some pics and we can see if there's anything wrong.
