Default Hotwire help needed please.

hi, ive tried to download the hotwire software onto a new laptop. But when i connect laptop to hotwire (the correct lights are on too) it says

"unable to find the hotwire, check that the hotwire is connected and the USB cable is plugged into the computer, then try restarting hotwire software".

Any help please, thankyou.

PLEASE PM ME WITH ANY ANSWERS

Make sure that the mini USB connector is pushed fully home into the hotwire. Mine was stiff and looked like it was in but I had the same fault message. Then I pushed a bit harder and the connector went fully in, no problems after that.
