Default SCT Which Truck

Morning All

i used to race 1/10th carpet racing but hung up the towel a few years ago, i know fancy something different and sct seems to be the way, Robinhood raceway is 15 minutes down the road so perfect.

i will be racing at club level for now i think, so can anyone answer the following questions, any advice would be great.

1. 2wd or 4wd?
2. if so which truck from the above, want something which parts are readily available. used to race XRAYS years back and getting parts was hard and expensive, dont want to do this again
3. water proof electrics or not?

i think the rest i will pick up from racing, but just want to know which truck to get really, im not really looking for a beginner truck, would rather go somewhere in the middle, i like quality products so fire away

Depends on the track surface.
If you gonna run on 2WD class on astro, grass or carpet i would choose durango (mid motor conversion). On dirt you wont go wrong with hpi blitz ese.
4WD i would go Losi ten scte 2.0.
Hope it helps.

For 2wd the ansmann x2sc may be cheap but you can't knock the quality
There's loads of spares on eBay and upgrades available to
Electrics wise I ve always found pay a bit more for reliability
Waterproofing I never bothered just get the under shell they are available or failing that get the buggy version body shell and make them fit
Best to see what over people at the club run as spares will be at hand and setup advice will be around

Imo 2WD Durango is the way to go as there good value, and handle really well
also Phat bodies are working on an underbody at the moment to keep the
water out
go to your local track and see what there running as that will be what your
racing against, and more likely to share the same spares with

i just bought an ansmann x2sc for £65

i was looking at the losi xxxsc too which is pretty good value too,
all that put me off the durango was the price of spares

I really like sct, but not many run them at RHR so it depends if you want to practice at RHR and race regionals/nationals but on a club night it will probably just be you and me with a truck!!
Out of what is out there atm, either a desc410 or a scte2.0. The durango behaves a bit more like a buggy an atm it's very good value, and the losi can take more bashing.
Both are fast and strong.
