Default Wheel rim protectors

Bought a new car today (57 plate Civic 2.2 Diesel) it's in decent nick though needs the mother and father of all polishes as it's got the flattest paint ever.

Anyway its got 17 inch wheels which are good except that they've got a fair amount (a lot) of curb rash on them. It's a budget car but I want it to look decent, not keen to spend £200+ on a wheel refurb so wondered if the these rim protectors are any good?

For the avoidance of doubt I'm only interested in silver ones to blend in, not adding colour. Will they look OK or are they likely to stick out and look rubbish?
