As i'm realy want one of this Cats and i have to order from germany, i do have some questions, before i put the button to order...

Does the mounting system and cf strap for the shorty battery come with the kit, or is this an option? I couldnt find that in the discription?
Is it worth, or naccesery to upgrade to the aloy upper transmission housings?
And could someone please tell me, what parts i should order to carry as spares in my pit box, too?

This would be my first cat, so i dont have spares, exept a view from my svr, i saw, they could be interchangeable!?

Thanks in advance and

Alloy upper gear box tops worth getting
Shorty battery strap kit is an extra but only £5.99
Spares the normal you would carry for any car.
You will like the cat I've been running the K1 and if the K2 is an improvement on that then will be a great car.

I think you will find that the strap to mount a shortly in the transverse position is in the kit but to fit a shorty length ways is an option.

The front alloy upper gearbox top adds strength as the plastic one can break in a heavy crash.
The rear alloy upper gearbox top isn't really needed for strength but allows the rear shocks to be fitted on the rear of the wishbones.
The alloy front suspension pivot block also adds strength.
The Core RC Spring kits are very good and a reasonable price, normally kit pistons are good.

Looking at the kit set up for astro, the kit front springs are white while the rears are black. So the softest on the front and hardest on the rear?

Thanks for that infos!

Some more questions did come up.
Do you change the internal gearing often and if so, what is a common internal gearing? Or is the kit standard a good point to stay with?
On the manual, the shock covers are listed as an option, are they worth to get, too?

Thx again and

Yes the motor rotates the same as all motors, the pinion will rotate anticlockwise when looking from the pinion end.

That's what I was referring to and the fella I was answering understood what my answers was.

In relation to the wheels the motor spins in the opposite direction to the K1.

There are other ways for you to put you point across, at the moment you're doing nothing for this thread. All understood what was meant!

Now you add a few extra words your comment is correct. How you and others answered originally implied that the motor needed to be reversed.
So as you say, there are other ways to put your point across.

I've preordered the k2 hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow or Monday. It's my first 4wd so can anybody suggest a good stating point for motor turn and gearing. I run on a medium-large size Astro track and I gear my 2wd kf at 76 spur 24-25 pinion with a 7.5 motor if that's any help. I was planning on building the kit pretty much from the manual and then working from there but are there any essential additions/upgrades that I should fit straight away. Thanks Andy

Hi Andy, for Torch I would suggest the vented shock caps so you can run the shocks in emulsion set up, smoothes the car out over the bumps quite a lot.
The front alloy upper transmission housings a good to have for strength but not essential first off. I also use the alloy rear camber link on my K1 and KF2.

A 7.5 or 6.5 would be good motor wise, can't remember gearing but I expect something like a 22t pinion would be a good starting point for a 6.5.

Let me know how you get on, I'm getting mine delivered to where I'm working at the moment (Isle of Islay) and will build here. Look forward to seeing you at Torch and Newbury in December when I get home.

Cheers for the info Rich, I've wanted a 4wd for a while and couldn't resist when I saw the K2 as it looks pretty cool.
