Default Transmitter/Reciever recommendations

Hi all,

Looking for advice/recommendations for a cheap entry level transmitter/reciever combo. Has to be sticks, 2 channel, preferably programmable but not essential. I’ve used Core RC in the past, but I understand they are like hens teeth now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Steve

Cheapest 2nd hand that's decent would be a Gemini X, around £80-100.

I converted an old Gemini II 40Mhz to 2.4 using the FrSky hack module, was easy and cost me a total of around £50 with a 2nd hand Gemini II and new module plus RX.

Etronix pulse stick transmitter is the same as the core rc one, although the Gemini will have faster response time, next one up is the Futaba 4grs but then you are looking around 260 new

Anything by Sanwa.
The new futaba stick radio's are nice and a decent price.
KO are great too.

Avoid core/etronix like the plague. They are just so laggy, hopeless for racing.

Futaba 2HR without a doubt.

Cheap (£50 ish), reliable, and receivers are cheap too (about £28).

Plenty using them at the oval clubs I race at with no issues - that's a test in itself for reliability with 20-30 people all racing in close proximity!
