Default Ball Studs

Just wondering if anyone has bought ball studs from a source other than the manufacturer of their car?

Is there a company that sells them and are they up to a good standard, or best to stick with the manufacturer?

I’m assuming that they are bought in anyway and not manufactured in house.

The same question goes for screws too I guess.

There are aftermarket ballstuds (Lunsford come to mind) but one thing to watch out for is quality of fit between superficially similar sized parts, the last thing you want is a ballstud that pops off or binds up because it is 0.1mm different to the kit part.

Screws are pretty generic, although there are some specialised screws in kits that you are unlikely to get off the shelf (unusual lengths or partial threads).

Depends on why you want to do it, issues with the factory ballstuds/cups or just cost..........

The TD ones were dire, so i swapped to AE metric TiNi ballstuds and RPM ballcups.......... not quite what you wanted to know.

(The TiNi/RPM combo was also cheaper to buy in the first place and far more durable as well.)
