Smile Resurrection....

There's something I like about academy buggies...you generally get a pro setup but for a good price. It's a shame Academy weren't aggressive enough. The SBV2 Pro was (or maybe is) still popular in the States.

Anyway...I recently picked up an SBV2 pro. I gave it a good clean and rebuild.

Body + wing + undertray are SBV2 stock. Rims and tyres are Academy Fusion. Losi threaded shocks all round.

Some of the electrics: Novak Velociti 7.5T with 3racing heat sink; SP LPF ver2 speedo. Savox 1258mg servo. Opposite is a trackpower 5000mah 40-50c stick lipo. I used velcro on the chassis and underside of the lipo to keep it secure. Works really well once you've put the carbon battery strap on top! Saves from buying Diggidy Designs lipo holder, which is nice but too costly!

I've still got a few things to do...fit a rear anti-roll bar. But I need the fixing for it which I can't seem to find!

I've worked hard to source spares including chassis bits and a stiffener!

I have given it a quick test run..FFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSTTTTTTT!!!

Bring on the SBv3....yes, Andreas it's coming!

Nope...lame I know!

My focus at the moment is on my Kyosho fs1...having issues with steering crank!

Just trying to find the time!

Are you still with your sbv3? Still treating you well?

Default There Back

I have a buddy in the Us and he said the TQ guys were at the track running there version of the Academy 2w.

He said it had hexes on the front and some other small changes.

He said he spoke with the guys and they said the car would be out before the end of November.

They are also working on the 4w and the Stadium Truck,I hear the 4w will have a graphite plate and a aluminum center diff mount.

I am so Happy

That's interesting...

I think there is another company that is taking over distribution/development of Academy...I don't think it's MRC.

The Griffin was a good car...now difficult to find parts...

I like academy...the SBV2 and SBV3 (which I am yet to build) are good cars if modded well...

I look forward as you do too!

I liked the look of the last academy gv2 2wd , shame it didn't get supported much over here.
Hope it works out for TQ as the car looks more than capable
4wd sounds interesting too
