It's an old meteor (still with mechanical speed controller installed!) and it's quite rough having survived my childhood thrashings, but I think that it'll repair o.k.
Would I be right to say that B4 etc wheels are 2.2inch? If so, then the wheels for the meteor are only 2inch - they are definately smaller than the wheels I use for the B4...

Yeah 2", but don't worry we'll get some tyres to fit, even if we have to cut and shut to reduce the diameter!

Old "softs" would be ok.

I think I have secured you a gearbox cover for your ProCat.

The online entry form is not working on some people's servers - if your entry does not appear on the list after 48 hrs PM me.

The online form is better however as I don't have to enter your info manually.

I might be able to borrow a Niko Super Sprint, does this qualify?

You remember it was the one almost decent buggy Niko ever made, came with a 19t motor about 10 years ago which was mad at the time on a mech speedo.

Am I allowed in?

Yeah I suppose, but you can't use the crazy speed 19 turn!

I've realised I think it was stick pack only and therefore virtually rules me out!

Stick or not, you'd find most cars are a challenge to fit modern cells in - so a few test runs are in order.. goodness knows what happened to cell dimension rules.

OK another option, I should be able to borrow either a Cat 2000 EC or a Yoke YZ10. Do these qualify?

The YZ10 is no works 93 for ultimate retro but it's pretty old all the same!

Pre 90? Good grief, release or current car cos that would rule out most RC10's surely?

It's comes with an old Trinity stock motor (27t), as I'm not going to be able to do the series anyway, could I do it as a one off with this slower motor, just for the fun?

Don't worry Dan, you won't have to use any of that new fangled YZ10 stuff. I should have another historic available by tonight so that will be three runners so I can arrange an "Arrive and Drive" Hire deal!!!

Excuse my randomness, but i was just browsing for old R/C stuff and found this - i had completely forgotten about the ZX, after about a year of racing i had an awesome ZXR, but seeing this bought back memories of the first club meets i did and all the top guys were using these!

Was such an awesome looking car in the day!

too bad I can't be there. I've found the following eligable cars in my parents basement :
  • Tamiya Wild One
  • Tamiya Big Wig
  • Tamiya Super Sabre
  • Tamiya Egress
  • Schumacher ProCAT
  • RC10T (but that one almost belongs to Northy )

I love the retro car revival. Already bought the Frog rerun.

Now that sounds ideal. Very good skills indeed!

If it's an RC10 with Tekin mid motor conversion I'd be stoked as I'd not only be running Tekins still but running X Factory theory? That said I'd be happy with a grass hopper
