Default Touring Car Rules

Hi All

Can we confirm what the rules are going to be for the touring cars? There was talk on Sunday of running 13.5 motors.

I don't have a 13.5 to go in a touring car, so I don't want to buy one, unless this is definitely going to be the way it goes.

Thanks

Steve

Default Touring Car Motor Rule

Hi Steve,

OK we want to keep everything in line with the BRCA, BTCC and SICC who will all be racing at Mendip in 2014 so the rules for Touring Cars will be 13.5T or lower and boosted is allowed.

As we are trying to build interest and attract new members for touring cars the motor rule will make racing a level playing field for everyone and avoid having to have multiple classes with limited numbers in the heats therefore creating more competition.

With the inclusion of the boosted (turbo) function that will give racers plenty of speed to deal with the long back straight at Mendip and 13.5 is also kinder on the cars and tyres resulting in less wear and tear and breakage's

I hope that clarifies everything.

On a side note we never want to exclude anyone from racing and always try and accomodate whatever equipment people have to run to help them along.

Regards

Paul Morrissey

Yep...just to backup Paul, we're going to promote the 13.5t boosted class as our 'club' class at all race days so we can all get the right setup & kit...and fit with the rules of the bigger competitions too.

We'll still be allowing any other classes to run if numbers allow too though, as we don't want to exclude anyone. So if modified (lower than 13.5t) cars showed up we'd allow them to run too!

Hopefully that'll work for everyone, if not, just let us know

No problem Steve, I know Rob & the SWRC guys are all coming on board with 13.5t TC's so plenty more racers getting involved for 2014

Even some interest from some of the nitro boys buying TC's for some more racing fun!
