Default Team Durango DEX210 - 2WD buggy

Team Durango have released the first official word on their much anticipated 2WD buggy - the DEX210. Photos of an early-stages pre-production prototype have also been released on the Team Durango blog. The car features some exquisite hand finished parts and pre-existing parts from other manufacturers. Despite the late announcement, the buggy will be racing tomorrow at the Petit race in Kent.

Team Durango:
Durango 2wd prototype breaks cover & will be raced at the “Petit” event in Kent this weekend.
The thinking behind the DEX210 is to be the first car where mid & rear motor mounting is possible from the same car, ensuring Durango owners can be sure to have the ideal layout whatever the track.
Private testing has already been carried out with various gearbox configurations & motor locations, but as always Durango like to test properly before finalising the design so off to the Petit race Gerd goes with his hand made car.

Check out the Team Durango Blog for more information.

Good luck to Gerd with the project. Durango have obviously released a very competitive 4wd car (if Winter Racing is anythnig to go by) so I'm sure this 2wd will be the same

It's suppose to be like that. It's a favoured way of mounting staggers.

You no need to worry Mark no-one will run into the back of you at the start of the finals, as you'll be last on the grid

I'm sure it'll be very good when it comes out, and I'd love one to go with my DEX410, but surely this "news" has only just popped up now, to take a bit of the attention from the new Schumacher 2wd, "here's our 2wd, oh, and you can see it tommorow"

I'm a abit baffled as to how the gear mesh is set. It looks like the motor and spur are both static. I've only looked at the pictures briefly and I'm sure I saw some hinges in the transmition. Can anyone with more time on thier hands and experience disecting the pre production photos throw me a bone?

lay shaft/slipper/spur moves, it rotates round the idler moving the spur away or to the pinion, doing that keeps the motor in the same posistion!
