Yeah, any links fine, Stu's pics, whatever.

Most of the 2wd stuff was with my 35-105, set at 35mm 1:3.5

All the 4wd are with your 50mm.

I was using an inferior brand of pinion....have you got any losi gears? (better quality and will not give up during a race)

are both the bulkheads or whatever the hindge pins go in to aluminium? or is one side plastic?

if one side is plastic why not try this (thanks to ian southwell ofr the idea):

basically ive drilled a hole, roughly the size of a grub screw, then tapped the hole with a grub screw being carefull i dont strip the thread then put the grup screw up till it touches the hindge pin, again being careful i dont strip the thread!

if your really worried about it you could measure up the hindge pin to locate where about the grub screw is then dremel a slice of about 1mm so when the grub screw goes on the hindge pin it has a slot to lock on to.

my x-5 chassis was damaged and ive been looking for a way to keep the brace that protects the blocks on the car without it falling off untill im willing to fork out for a new chassis over somthing quite minor, or when i have the spare money

I think the problem is the arm moving backwards rather than the pin moving.. the arm is at the rear of BOTH mounts, so without the pinion it can slide backwards..

The modifications that you suggested to the losi cars is an excellent one but would not work with my car.
The hinge pins on the BJ4 are held in by a grub screw on the forward (front) mounting block and stop it from moving.
The cutdown pinion is a lock stop that allowed me to set the wishbone in the correct position so the driveshafts and suspension lined up properly....I used a pinion due to not having the proper lock stops machined in time for the weekend.
The car was involved in a first corner pile-up and was shunted by 3 cars very heavily causing the wishbone to move and the driveshaft to drop out...I believe had it been fitted with the kit back-end the wishbone would have snapped clean off due to the accident.

I got bored last week and decided to have a bit of fun with the spare parts I had hanging around in my pit box.
I'm just deciding what to do next......maybe an upright shock conversion on an X10 (just remembered I did that with an international edition pred a few years back)

You could also mount the shocks on the back of the BJ4, we have found this to be a major improvement on the Slim4 :buggy:
