Well we made it out to the track again this evening with the intention of getting some bits done but got stuck into racing and discussing what needed to be done

List of things to do before the openday
  1. Fill more fire hose with gravel.
  2. Fit orange barriers around the whole track
  3. and wooden barriers/stops around the top of the banks.
  4. Cover the exposed tarram with the outdoor carpet (not astro)
  5. Assemble more of the ramps/features and paint them all.
  6. smooth out the car park surface
  7. Arrange/ build rostrum??
  8. Build secure timing bridge

So if anybody is in the area this weekend and fancies lending a hand we would be more than appreciative

Cool We almost have a rostrum.

Well after much debate and hunting last week me and Brimz went on a 5 hour mission and picked up a small load of racking to use with a load of ply sheets we already had to create our first "propper" rostrum (yes I know some may laugh but its the best we could do on virtually 0 budget )

On Saturday 6 of us went out and had a very soggy day in the rain but we made some progress.

4 of us made it out today and got the rostrum moved on a good way. Only a bit more boarding, bolting, welding and handrails to do before we can start to sand and paint the timber

The Rostrum its self is quite petite at only 4.5m x 1.22m platform size and a 5.5ft standing height. But then its not like it's the biggest track in the world and until we start to get the heat sizes up to the 9-10 mark its not going to be a problem. Under the main deck there is a full length table for final car prep, check or maintenance before putting them on the grid. Race control will be in a nice little 7m x 5m marquee I have which will go next to the rostrum.

Oh yeah we also as you can see from the first photo we manged to get a good chunk of the track barriers up as well

Hope you like it

And it should be processed by the end of the day and certificate away to us.

I must say very efficient BRCA impressed

Rest of the timber cladding for the rostrum went up yesterday and the timber started to be cleaned ready for a nice green wood stain.

Next thing to arrange is TOILET
