Default RB5 Big Bore Shock End Loose

Hello there

I'm running the Big bores on my RB5 SP2 WC. What is frustrating is that the shock end keep coming out themselves both front and rear randomly. Im using the medium length shock ends.

Can anyone give me some suggestion to keep them in place and not come out? Or is it i did not screw them in enough? im following the manual for front 20.5mm and rear 29.5mm (shock cap to end in between length)

Thanks

Regards
Calvin

Are you using the longer of the two top shock caps on all shocks? The difference is 1.5mm, equivalent to 3 full turns on the lower eyelets. I believe the WC spec build uses the longer (actually its mid length) lower eyelets (both these & shorts supplied in the kit) which are 4mm longer than the shorts.

Either of those could be the issue.

As I understand it the WC build actually suggests using internal limiters so the must be plenty of shock shaft to spare.

Hope that helps.

Do you mean that the shock bottom is coming off of the shock shaft? if so have you over tightened them and stripped out the threads? You'll need new ends if so.

Hi Roger

What do you recommend me to use? the short cap or longer cap. The WC manual ask to use the long one which is RB5. Short is for ZX5. I notice some setup from Tebo uses the short ones.

How long must the front and rear shocks be? Must i measure from shock cap to shock end? if so what is the recommended length.

Either of those could be the issue.( what do you mean? are they prone to this issue)?

Thanks

Regards
Calvin

Mine are screwed on so only 1mm of thread is visible on the shaft. Mine don't come off, the arm breaks instead, lol.

Calvin
Front shocks at 87mm Total length
Rear shocks at 98mm Total length
Front and rear using the long shock tops
You will be fine on that measurement
