Looking good. However, the 502X is serving my well and has plenty of life left in it, so unfortunately I don't think the 503 will find its way into my collection any time soon.

It´s a really nice kit.
Good that they included metal gears in diffs and also hex adapters. Also like the turnbuckles.
Shame that they did´nt include hard hex ball connectors...

Was just about to ask that before I saw your post.
Really don't get why they aren't including the hard hex connectors.

I think I might purchase this machine in the very near future. I bought my 501X upon release (still a nice buggy), seems the 503 is worth the money.

I only have these pictures of the Manual so far.... but most of the parts I have crossed referenced are all new... 8series part #... so there are all special order from Tamiya currently

You can use some parts on 511 like suspension arms, camber mounts, damper towers, all plastic parts etc.
Some parts would fit with minor mods, like making new holes etc.

Let say you want to update your 511 to 503 specs. In short, you want the longer chassis with new motor position and new 12 degree kickup.

You would have to buy (probably not 100% complete list):
alu chassis plate, rear (front) suspension mounts, center bulkhead (right), motor mount, new topdecks, new front bulkheads (upper and lower) with bulkhead spacers, new drivebelts, new front suspension mount.

Center bulkhead mount is shorter. So the 511 bulkhead does´nt fit the 503 chassis unless you make new holes in chassis. Could be done of course.

Front upper bulkhead is modified to fit new kickup and is now 12 degrees, 511 had 8 degrees. Not a new 502X mistake...
You can use 503 upper bulkhead on 511 and vice versa. Basic dimensions are same, but angle on damper tower would be wrong of course.

503 damper towers fit 511 and vice versa. Rear tower is basically same, with outer holes removed and inner added. Wing mounts are lowered ~10 mm and moved out ~3.5 mm.

Front tower sit ~1.5mm higher. Outer holes removed.

Front suspension mount to change kickup. Also front lower bulkheads are modified for new kickup of course. (Want the suspension mount to be in the correct angle)

You can then add gear diffs, BB dampers etc to the list and you will realise that buying a 503 is a better option.

At least Tamiya produced the car so there's no doubt about it whether it's more financially interesting to replace or upgrade your car Then the nice part of the story is that many suspension spares are still compatible - perhaps not the same, but at least they're compatible!

By the way, thanks Dave for sharing the build pictures - the car looks amazing!

Ordered my one today. Store said be in post on Thursday.
When to look around to buy a few TRF511 hop-ups (alloy steering, ti screws/shafts etc) Not much around that are a fair price.
Wonder if you can order the rear Hex's just by themselves.

I have inquired about getting the "normal" spare parts for the TRF503... and Tamiya Japan said that they will not have spare parts until after the 22nd of March release date in Japan.... so... .I would think the 1st week of April
