in what way does this protect your front tower? Any impact on this protector will be transfered to the tower anyway ?!?

Might only protect it from minor scrathes ... which I don't mind.

I think the point is that with it, it slides over the track surface, rather than digging in and transferring the energy to the shocktower/bulkhead, etc.

Wes made them to stop the car digging into the local club's (West Bridgford) carpet when crashing and making holes, it slides instead
