Hi there,

I was lucky enough to get one of the prototypes and having read the manual that Chaz wrote all I can say is read it - it has most of the tips you need to know about building the car in it already . The only thing I would say is on the rear inner hingepin brace don't fully tighten the screws until the hinge pin bushes are located otherwise might not get them in.

Enjoy the build, any questions just ask!

After finishing part B of the build (installing the front end), I would suggest test fitting your servo at this point. The benefit here is that if/when you dremel the nose plate (XF1002), the bits don't go all over the (almost) fully assembled car! You may find that you have to dremel a small amount from the upper most nose bridge piece to allow the server horn to reach full travel; again do this before assembling the rest of the car to avoid C/F dust getting all over your freshly assembled cube! Like Kevin, I had a prototype car and so there is a chance that the nose pieces have been altered for production to take this into account, so YMMV.

The manual is great and unlike other brands, you get useful advice at all key stages. I find the build of XFactory vehicles the least stressful of all the brands I have experienced and I put that down to Chazz's soothing words!

Thanks Toby. I like to think that you are sitting at your workbench doing the work whilst I stand by your side making suggestions along the way.

Hi maybe it's me put can someone confirm that... The rear rear wishbone hanger (which I got free thanks Darren) is it just held by the 2x screws up throw the chassis. Just seems to be the holes throw the rear may need fitting. The manual seems to stop just before this step. Just for peace of mind.

Yeah, 2 screws from the bottom only. The two horizontal screws were only used/needed on the squared.

A great deal of the team still use the good old faithful Losi V1 shocks at present, simply becasaue we have great experience and knowledge with them from the previous X6 models, more recently though we have switched to running Big Bore springs on them now.

Rich Lowe however runs the AE Big Bores and likes them (although he did run my Losi small bores briefly at the Stotfold nationla and quite liked them) but he has reverted back to the BB's and his car goes very well on them.

Whatever you prefer or decide to run once of us here in th etam will be able to assist with help and set ups if required...

Best advice is to run what YOU are comfortable with or most familiar with to suit you best.

We have shipped the entire production run to Dealers in the sequence they placed orders. A Main got a big batch which I understand were all pre-sold. A Main has placed orders several different times totalling a large number of Kits, and each order went into the queue as it was placed.

The first production run was the largest single run we have ever made. Next batch of CF was ordered two weeks ago, and should ship to us any day now. Second run of Cubes will be larger than the first.

Several UK dealers may still have some stock spare if you want one quicker, there is a whole world outside of A Main believe it or not ;-) ....

Sounds like you didn't have your name down for the pre-order with A-main then. Why not just get your name down and have a little patience. A popular buggy won't even reach the shelf to sit in stock, they'll be pre-sold.

Edit: or im sure Darren at DMS can sort you one. Send him a PM.

Please see my post two above yours and as Chris Long has said also...

There is still (very limited) stock here in the UK and several dealers have spare kits in stock too as far as we are aware. If you are using a UK forum to post the complaint to X-Factory, why not use a UK dealer to make your purchase, it could have been with you already if it was purchased when they first arrived....

The UK, in particular ourselves and some of the UK team members had a HUGE hand in the X6 Cubed project, the first full prototypes were built here and many parts had an active hand in the design and development of the car on these shores, the shots of the first prototype were of my very own car taken in my office since it was the initial one assembled. We were the very first to order our stock and subsequently received ours first also, hence the reason why we have them here when others (inc A Main) do not have their full quota yet..........
