Default Small bore / big bore shocks

Quick simple question.

I have a second hand KF2se and the shocks need a rebuild.

How can I tell if the shocks are small bore, or big bore?

Thanks in advance.
Simon

its unusual for a KF2 to come with small bores but if they are the clearance between the inside of the spring and shock body will be about 4mm

What difference does using different sized shocks make to how the car runs?

Small bore shocks react quicker and big bore shocks tend to be more lazy. The only issue is that small bore shocks do not soak up large jumps like the big bores can. At the moment I feel that the big bores on the current range of Schumacher cars are working well now that there is a good setup for them. On the older models such as K1 Aero and KF/KF2 series they tended to be needed to get the best from the cars. Also do not forget we are also talking about small bore shocks running big bore springs when we talk about small vs big bore. This is a good link from Petit RC Bigbore spring small bore shock all about it
