Solder
I'm wanting to replace the wires on my Novak speedo but what type of solder is used from factory as my soldering iron won't seem to melt it?

Hi chap !
I bought a Weller W100D Soldering Iron 20 years ago ! It's a 240v 100w iron with a 7mm flat tip on it ! It takes approx 3-4 secs to melt the solder on any ESC I've tried to re-wired !! I think your issue is the tip is to small !! You may be able to get a replacement tip which is more suitable ! |

Agree with the one - you need a bigger tip Will. The joint is sucking the heat out of the tip faster than the iron can replenish it.
You need as bigger tip as possible for the job to ensure maximum heat transfer to the job quickly, rather than spending ages with the tip transferring heat to the rest of your ESC. Make sure the tip is clean and tinned as well.
