theres a fair amount of choice... need a bit more info from you though...
are you after 2wd or 4wd? ( 2wd seemed to be more popular at the nationals this year but there was still a good showing for 4wd) £300 ( do u need everything inc batterys charger transmitter etc to fit your budget ? ) u happy to go second hand or new kit? wheres your local club? do they race trucks there? worth finding out as you can see some in action so to speak and get a better idea of what you like the look of. my local shop is DMS racing and the manager there john won the last round of the national held at silverstone ( in 4WD ), maby worth giving them a bell also for some advice. loads of truckers here on oople will have far more advice to give you also. PS... its great fun :-)

you need some advice from other ooople members on that on as i have no experience with associated.... i run a tekno and previously had a durango.
also you need to factor in additional cost of a charger and a couple of lipo batterys ... i think that deal comes with a nimh battery and not sure anyone uses them anymore. if im not mistaken silverstone stopped running a sc heat so best off poping to nean vally if you can. whats really helpful is if you can get a truck that a few others are racing at your local club, this way you can get setup advice, and also if you break something you have a chance someone can help you with spares on the day if you dont have any. hope this helps

From what I've seen in SC racing, and also from being part of the class inc some Nationals, I'd have pushed you towards a 2wd chassis.
The racing is generally cleaner and a little more sympathetic in that class .. thats not the case with 4wd. I run a Durango DESC210, its ace .. drives well and easy to set up, buts parts aren't easy to get any more .. but a lot of peeps run them so easy to compare setups. TBH .. the Losi 22 looks really good, if my Durango broke big time thats what I'd buy ... and they do crop up on ebay .. Also don't make the mistake of putting big power in it, a good 10.5 motor with a few deg of turbo makes for a real nice drive and is more than capable of putting you in a National A final |

Ask at your local shop and then go to a local meeting and ask the racers there . They will offer tons of advice. Go 2 wd for less cost and easier set up ect . I bought the wrong truck but i still race it and until i can drive better it makes no difference as i come last any way . 2wd and get racing ,hop up and all the fun stuff can come when you can make it through a days racing cleanly ha ha,lol ect !

2WD Short Course
Hi
We race at Silverstone and Daniel has competed for the last 2 years in the SC Nationals this year finishing in the top 10. He has made A finals with the Durango DESC210 which he races. I also made a hybrid Durango DESC210/Schumacher KF which he used this year. We are changing trucks for next year as I have 6 RC cars/trucks and its too much. I have for sale 2 rolling Durango DESC210's with bodies and a huge amount of spares, tyres and wheels. I would be happy to do a deal with you for some or all of the equipment? I have set up sheets etc for some of the rounds we did. PM me or come and see me at Silverstone on a Tuesday. Regards Ian |

Also Silverstone have a plan going forward and trucks may well be making a comeback locally
You get more for your money going with used kit, buy from a racer and you cant go too far wrong.

They are hoping to run a stock 2wd class aimed at beginners may me worth considering all they ask is 2s lipo and no faster than a 13.5 motor

13.5T Class
Gents
It was discussed at Committee level last week about having a 13.5Turn motor class but it was agreed that this was not needed so it will not be going ahead. Regards Ian |

I'm sure the 13.5 class will be well supported..

very few people have 13.5 motors already, so rather than make those go out and get a new motor, and risk further dilution of the field, it seemed a smarter move to keep the existing format.
If we suddenly get 10 new drivers all wanting to race with a 13.5 motor then I am sure the committee would open to catering for them.

13.5 class needs support to get going, couple of us have been testing 17.5 and 13.5 over the winter with good results. What we are looking for is numbers to create the class and promote juniors new to the sport with a race of there own and not getting in the way of seasoned racers putting them off, I want to bring my grandson racing this year, he will be running 13.5 with the big boys in the bottom heat and work his way up till he beats me, then I retire lol.

I think all our "young uns" will be doing it anyway just in the normal class. IF there is enough of them they will get their own heat anyway due to the new seeding based on last season.
