At the moment we have 6 clubs interested and possibly a couple of sponser's.

We are waiting for the other regional dates to get sorted out, before we arrange the dates.

I'll post a update soon.

We currently have the 7 round (5 to count) Short Course championship for this summer.

24th April - Moto Arena
26th June - NDOR
15th May - Eden Park
24th July - Adur
21st August - Coventry
11th September - Moto Arena
25th September - A1 Raceway

With the 3 classes for the champion being 2WD, 4WD and Slash (with Slash driver able to race with the open 2WD if they wish).

RadshapeRC are supplying the trophies for the series and we are still have discussions with a couple of further possible sponsers.

More information to follow shortly, but just wanted to let people know the dates and venues.

Paul

Probably the only event where I'll be able to take both my short courses out to play......(how comes slash's have their own class )

And just wondering at this point if there was any firm'ish ideas around motors/tyre rules for the series?

A1 Racing Club is Astroturf chaps, we might throw in some other surfaces to mix things up a bit, depending on popularity with us Short Course drivers or championship drivers opinion....

easy tyre choice, its Fastrax
'Kourse Kings' or possible Fastrax 'Bullseye's if they work when we have some to test.

We found that grid starts work best, grid is formed from finishing positions in round before... first round is done at random by computer.

ditto... Why the Slash class seperate? it was only the earlier trucks that came with 2.2" wheels and tyres, I raced a Slash last summer and it was as competitive as the others?!

depending on numbers of entries it would be good to have 2wd and 4wd 'stock' class which run 10.5 and above brushless or brushed equiv, then open classes for the speed freaks... this is how we have set Mid East Regional rules and think it will work well.

If those dates are set in stone now then i'll start spreading the word around the clubs i use, get the feeling this championship is going to be a big hit and establish the class as a popular alternative/complimentary choice for electric off-road racing and a great beginners class.

The 'A1 Wreckin Crew' is going on tour, can't wait!

What are the chances of throwing in a class for electric 8th scale?
it seems lots want to race them in a proper series and this would be ideal to run along side the SC's. Seeing as the nitro boys don't want to run with them.

Could run the Slash's with the other classes and put E-8th on?

The bullseyes look great, a pair premounted with soft inserts for £13.49 or £10.19 a pair on theyre own, Kourse Kings £10.19 a pair on theyre own so a reasonable price! happy Days!!!

If slash owners want to race against everyone else just book in to the relevent open class I don't thing that Short course in the UK is big enough to support, open, stock and single make classes, maybe a good idea for a poll?

Personally I'd leave the 1/8th scale, if another class was to be raced I'd rather it be 1/10th Stadium trucks...
