Default 2wd SC210 pinion and gear help

Just got my hands on a kit . I plan on racing at storm valley (dirt) I have 8.5t motor what pinion do you guys recommend and I will be planning on building the kit in rear motor should I go 3 or 4 gear ? Any help would be great thanks

4 gear will give you a lot more traction on dirt. Personally I like it more than the 3 gear. And if the traction comes up enough to negate the benefits of 4 gear, then I would be running MID-motor setups. Normally I run a 22T with my 8.5T.

cheers ta ,i will give 3 gear a go get used to that thjen start having a play with the 4 gears mode and yep i will defo give the 22 a go thanks
