Vintage Losi LXT in CAD
Here's a few images of my LXT that i modelled a few years ago as a uni project. Time contraints meant i couldnt properly do a body, which i may do now as a project.

Great stuff!! That must have taken you quite some time? I use 2D Autocad everyday for work, but having been made redundant last year, I quickly realised that 3D is where its at these days. I had previously completed a course on Solidworks (seems to be the industry standard for 3D) but having never actually used it in anger means i'd be unwilling to apply for a job that required 3D experience.

Yeah it was a mjor project, so probably 3-6mths at uni and some at home.
Funny what you say, i studied Rhino 3D and Solidworks and now use Autocad/Civil for work! I loved cad at uni, and my teacher (who had his own 3d drafting company) said i could walk into any drafting office and be on pace pretty quickly with the amount i knew then. It is and was however a daunting idea to start doing stuff for real where the smallest mistake can make or break a product in real world situations. Would love one the of mechanical design jobs at AE or Losi etc, would be great designing and testing rc cars. Pity i didnt study mechanical engineering though! Alex

Tried Photoview 360, which is a render-application in Solidworks? Or at least it is in the 2011 version.
