Question DDS Mantis

Anyone remember the DDS Mantis? I'm not sure if it ever made it to the market place, but it was advertised a couple times in Radio Control Model Cars mag (mid to late 80's I think?).

It was a 4WD with what looked like a perspex tub chassis and nylon wishbones. If I remember correctly it was photographed with rear schumacher full spike tyres fitted to both front and rear axles. It looked quite different than anything else of the day.

Long since binned the magazines, but would interested to see any pic's if anyone has any?

Cheers

I remember it - love to see some pictures.

If I remember rightly it had heaps of gears inside the perspex tub - all exposed

I remember the ad.
Had a main picture of the car from a low-ish level and I think there was a picture of two geezers holding tha car too.
Weren't the wishbones quite short? And it was certainly a low rider...
Always wanted to see more of it but nothing ever happened - just disappeared...

I am sure have the advert somewhere. I was told the car in the picture ended up at a model shop on display. I would be interested to see how many cars were actually made and if any still exist. Not many people have even heard of one let alone seen one so it’s got to be up there as one of the rarest cars ever.

So there must be at least one out there somewhere...
