Default sv2 wide rear?

recently bought a second hand sv2 seems to be a good car was told it had the wide rear conversion but when checked against an ex team drivers car it was a goo 8mm narrower stripped it down looks standard looked up the conversion it seems to contain 2 bearings the same size as stock and some washers how does that make the car so much wider

The inner bearings are slightly narrower and the washers go on the outside between the outer bearing and the purple disc. It adds roughly 5mm to the rear track.

Remember the rear strap will also affect overall width - ie. 5deg will be wider than 3deg, which is a minor flaw in the design as you'd prefer it to get wider with less toe in fir the high grip tracks.

¿5mm? I think it is only around 2mm wider.

I was referring to overall, so 2-2.5mm each side which is what I think you are referring to.

Does 5mm total do much? Deciding whether to go down that road.

I dont have the conversion, but I think that you remove the inner 4mm wide ball bearings for 3mm wide ones to gain 1mm each side. So I think it is only 1mm each side, for a total of 2mm wider track.
Although it is only 2mm, you will feel the difference.

Well you add 3 x 0.5mm shims per side so the overall width will be 3mm wider.

It makes a massive difference...!

As for the 8mm wider team drivers car, there's another mod to the rear gearbox housing and using a 5 degree rear brace you get 3 or 4 degree toe (can't remember exactly) but a lot wider rear track...!
