Track features
So our new track surfaces works, next up will be some features!
The track is for all to use not just the committee so we would like suggestions of what people would like to see built on the track. Please leave any ideas on here for us to look into and discuss cheers dave |

Nothing too big id say, Steve did suggest a table top in the far corner (opposite rostrum) which could be used at 90 and 180 degrees, that would work really well i think.
Also a small jump before the straight works well where you got to roll over it, make the turn, then head down the straight. Id also suggest to keep the main centre part of the track clear as the natural angle of the ground is enough of a feature. Keep up the good work COBRA. Top job. |

We are trying to add features that can be used in multiples of ways, even consider making some 'mobile' ones.

maybe a double or a bomb hole jump going up the hill
a small whoops / ripple wave section as well. what i like about last sunday was the many bumps keeping you from powering your way around and you have to pick you line and ease the car around. if some of the bigger bumps would be made consitant and at lane lenght that would work |

Look at both the Kidderminster & RHR tracks...and use ideas from them! Best 2 tracks in the country for features IMO.
Go down as well as up if drainage can be sorted out. Keep the features/technical sections close to the rostrum, and in good line of sight...much better visibility where you need it most...keep the farthest corners as easy sections. Make sure jumps have good long down ramps...little ups and little downs are rubbish to race on! Go for shapes and undulations and smooth transitions as much as anything...jumps are cool if they are done right, but aren't the be all and end all. Well placed shapes can be used as ups, downs, off camber sections, mini banked corners if the track is laid well over them. Maybe try to exagerate any natural features you might already have. Good luck guys and nice work so far...looking forward to seeing it soon

Agree with Andy somewhat but also check out EPR and Southport as their tracks are awesome too
Word of caution though, be mindful of the limited space available and dont go OTT on features 2 or 3 max on the track would be plenty, plus you dont want the little local darlings ruining the track on their bikes and other mad toys and hurting themselves
