Default Which Tracks for the final 2 rounds???

OK, so following on from the previous thread for track selection for this series, to date we have run tracks 21, 7 (twice) and 13. For round 5 we will be having a Maz special so we just need to select tracks for rounds 6 and 7.

My vote (not posted but in my head ) was 13 and 16. Taking account of peoples previous selections, the following tracks are shortlisted for the final 2 rounds:

2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 14 and 16.

at the moment we have one vote for each so if you want to pick your favorite 3 tracks from the above, post on here and then we will know what tracks to run. Scott, Steve and Tom, you can again pick your top three from the above list if you wish.

The track layouts can be viewed here: http://www.bedsrcmcc.co.uk/tracks.php

Just trying to minimise the number of corners I need to negotiate. As an ex oval racer - the tracks not me, I'm still pretty much oval!! - having to get round more than two corners per lap is very taxing.

my votes are 4, 9 and I have a slight variation suggestion of 14 which I'd like you to see Paul.

So with voting now closed, the top choices were tracks 3, 9 and 14. we ran a Maz special (slightly evil I would say) version of track 14 for round 5 which leaves tracks 3 and 9 for the final two rounds.

Track 3 was great tonight, fast and flowing.

Maz, points are now posted for R6, race results will go up for R5&6 over the weekend. The points show, I think that you've got the win. As for me and Chris, I have to win by 3 points over Chris so it's a tall order. I think Chris has done enough to beat me. That round 2 was his chance to get max points

Tonights racing with Chris was great fun, shame my motor cable popped out in the final though, as until that happened me and Chris were neck and neck

Well done Chris

Well funny you should mention the championship standings, I just spent a few minutes with my trust spreadsheet to work out what each of us would need to do to win the championship or beat each other. All 3 of us can sitll mathematically win it...

Chris champ if:
  • Chris wins with FTQ
  • Chris wins without FTQ, Maz 3rd or worse (4th if Maz has FTQ)
  • Chris 2nd with FTQ, Maz 4th or worse
  • Chris 2nd without FTQ, Maz 5th or worse (6th if Maz has FTQ)
  • Chris 3rd with FTQ, Maz 5th or worse
  • Chris 3rd without FTQ, Maz 6th or worse, Scott doesn't get FTQ and win
  • Chris 4th with FTQ, Maz 6th or worse
  • Chris 4th without FTQ, Maz 7th or worse, Scott 2nd or worse
  • Chris 5th with FTQ, Maz 7th or worse, Scott 2nd or worse
  • Chris 5th without FTQ, Maz 8th or worse, Scott 3rd or worse (4rd if Scott has FTQ)

Maz champ if:
  • Maz wins (regardless of FTQ)
  • Maz 2nd with FTQ
  • Maz 2nd without FTQ, Chris doesn't get FTQ & win.
  • Maz 3rd with FTQ, Chris doesn't get FTQ & win.
  • Maz 3rd without FTQ, Chris 2nd or worse
  • Maz 4th with FTQ, Chris 2nd or worse
  • Maz 4th without FTQ, Chris 2nd or worse (3rd if Chris has FTQ)
  • Maz 5th with FTQ, Chris 2nd or worse
  • Maz 5th without FTQ, Chris 3rd or worse (4th if Chris has FTQ), Scott doesn't get FTQ and win
Scott champ if:
  • Scott Wins with FTQ, Chris 3rd or worse, Maz 5th or worse
  • Scott wins without FTQ, Chris 4th or worse (5th if Chris is FTQ), Maz 6th or worse
  • Scott 2nd with FTQ, Chris 5th or worse, Maz 7th or worse

So chances are pretty slim for you Scott but it's still mathematically possible so you gotta go out there for the win.

BTW, these calculations got me thinking. How is a tie broken on the table? is it best dropped scores or is it single best result? I have always wondered how our system works.
