Right guys,

I'm not around this week as it's a national weekend, Pete B is obviously not back to full strength yet, and Craig is currently on Paternity leave from his normal routine! So...it leaves the club somewhat light handed in terms of running things this week.

Chris is going to be around and will do his usual stirling job of booking in and keeping an eye on the timing side of things. Mike (Balders) and Pete N (my brother) are going to be around, and although they are not committee members they are be going to keep an eye on things a bit for us!

So could I ask that everyone please considers what is going on this week and lend a hand where ever it's needed...especially with setup and pack down...

The last few weeks we have noticed an increasing number of our own members who arrive in time to race, then vanish as soon as they finish racing. Although we know this is an age old problem with voluntary clubs in RC and everything, THIS GETS VERY FRUSTRATING for the few that do stop and help.

Can I remind everyone (especially our own members!) that the club runs entirely from volunteers who do not get any special benefits of any sort for helping out, i.e. we're not paid to do it for your benefit!! The few that do stop to help also have lives outside RC, partners, families, jobs that mean we're up early/first thing on a saturday, long distances to drive home, etc, etc, so we are in the same boat, but still find the 30 mins max that it takes to help pack down.

PLEASE COULD EVERYONE TRY AND DO THERE BIT AND HELP PACK DOWN AT THE END!

I know setup can be a bit hard to help with, but packing down is not, PLEASE DO YOUR BIT. An extra few pairs of hands speeds things up no end, only actually takes a few minutes if we all do it, and stops us getting p*&*ed off about doing it on our own each week!

Righto...rant over...back to fun stuff! Have a good weeks racing

Just to add to Andy's message, if we know we can get the track down, sweep the floor, change the bins and put away the tables etc. consistently week after week for example in 20 minutes with extra help then Chris can better time the whole night and that could mean we get an extra round in so more racing?!?

Hopefully Brian is coming this week and can pick up the keys so we can get a track down quick smart to start racing as early as possible.

I'll be along between 6-half past something like that traffic willing for some 4wd.
