Default Losi Jrx2 / Jrx Pro for Racing!

Not seen much about the Jrx2/Pro on here, so here's my effort.

This is it so far, see attachments

First picture is what it was like last week, the others a few minutes ago.

Hi Gordy,

Nearly right, they are RPM super strong swept front arms, I've got some orginal ones too, I remember the swept pro se ones looked better but broke alot. Can't find them in the spares box.

Anyone know a LHS that might have some old stock?

Great to see another 'JRX' graphite chassis Losi being given some love! Are you intending to run this beauty or is it for display only?

I ran my 5-link JRX-2 during last year & I must admit it drove really well & I was impressed with how it stood up to the riguers of running with modern Brushless & LiPo electrics (I did run a slipper though). I also a have a Pro - would be interesting to run that one day & compare it to the older 5 link SWB car.

I would highly recommend running your vintage - it really adds to the fun of owning these older cars

mine was one of the first jrx2's i then got the pro upgrade kit and ran it at Aire Valley for years. That's why it's got RPM front arms and LXT shock towers. Still got all the 5 link bits, but sold the short wheel base chassis years ago.

Dan I read your thread and watched your vids about your Jrx2. You amazed me with your collection and race results, and that's where I got the bug to restore mine. It will be race at York in the 540 class as I've not got a slipper, yet.....

It's looking good Brett. Who painted your shell? Do you remember Stu Storey from BITD?

Looks great bretts! I love the paint job on the period shell

Wish I could find a supply for a couple of new 'gold' trakpower batteries - they are the only batteries i've found that fit into the rear bulkhead of the JRX2 - I managed to get a 'Zippy' battery pack that fits in my XX but thats still too thick/tall to fit in the X2 without cutting

P.S; you've got to try it with a 'proper' motor in the back... for me the fun of running these vintage racers is to race up against the modern cars - showing what these old cars are capable of (quite often surprising many people) Whilst I understand the logic behind running vintage as a seperate silvercan class... for me i'd find the speed (or lack of it) a little boring.

Hi Neil, Stu Storey rings a bell, any more info? The shell was painted back in the 90's by Julian Alton in his garage (a 20+ year employee of Modelsport in Otley).

Dan, I'd love to get the slipper bits have put a 'proper' motor in but my gear box case has the small hole in it like you found out. Any suggestions? Have a look on hobby king site they do a lipo pack which is 22mm tall. I've got 5 trakpower thin gold bars!! Also, new Trakpower was on ebay 0.99p no bids. Collection only tho. still I should have got it and organised a courier.

Thin battery options

Brett, all I can really remember is he painted a lot of shells for the lads when we raced at Oaklands. He also ran a Losi with a sort of Subaru blue and orange paint scheme. The shells were backed in a light blue paint which he then signed 'Bodyspray by Stu Storey'.

Great stuff - you're now ready for a bit more power!

P.S; thanks for the link to suitable low-profile batteries.... just spotted those
