Default My old Losi XX "BK" Edition

Someone just contacted me to say they have my old Losi XX from the 90's and would I like it back!

Pretty exciting as I haven't seen it since I sold it in what must have been late 1998 before changing to Associated.

I hope he won't hold me to ransom but what should I realistically expect to pay for it (nostalgia aside)??

Wow - great to see this car again - the bodyshell design in the lower photo is awesome, its an old image of this one that I have saved in my 'Bodyshell ideas' folder on my PC

Price-wise - to someone like me it has some prevalence as (I presume?) this car either placed high up or even won some rounds of the national series? This has got to give the car more value to the collector/enthusiast. Ignoring any race history, as a Losi XX which unfortunately looks to be in 'well used' condition its probably only worth between £50 - £70 perhaps less? A friend recently brought a good condition XX off ebay recently complete with spares, vintage electrics ready to go for around £45

If I was the current owner of this car & had no use or attachment to it - I would donate it back to you

Thanks for the reply Dan!

He came back with a price of £150 which I guess I should have expected in truth but it's a bit of a shame as I'd have happily paid £100 for it for a bit of nostalgia... I'll have a think about it over the weekend and maybe see if he'll come down a tad as I do think that's a lot for what it is!

Hi Nick,

this guy is blatently trying it on with you which is pretty shameful,

I've bought a fair few XX's lately and that is a £75 car max, it's no mint collectable shelfer and he doesn't exactly care that much about it to leave it in that state, i know the sentimental is playing on you but nobody else would pay anywhere near that for it so you kind of have the upper hand!

Find yourself a clean one and twist Tony Evdoka's arm to get the airbrush out again

100 is the max price, might be worth while telling him the going price is around 60 for a good one so 100 is a good price.

£100 is too much IMO

I think it's a bit opportunist of him really, I offered £65 to start with as he refused to give me a price, then straight away said he'd only sell it for £150 as it was his first proper R/C car...

Anyway, no big deal - Looks like it's had a pretty hard time anyway!!

Disappointing though really, I can't see how it's worth anything to him really when he didn't even race it, just drove it around the garden.

I sold my old dogfighter at the end of last year and wished I hadn't. The guy said I could have it back for nearly double what I sold it to him for so I told him he could stick it.
