I contacted another seller a while back about a similarly overpriced item to see if it was a mistake. They said the high price was just their way of dealing with out of stock items. They know no-one will buy it at that price.

I do that all the time when items are out of stock. It saves ending a good listing and loosing its ranking on ebay.

Ranking? What's that thought it was just when an auction ended unless you paid for the extra for it to appear at the top?
