What does the ball diff do better compared to the kit diff. Is the ball diff best suited to different track surfaces?

I have only used my Laydown indoors on carpet and was blown away with the handling of the car (settings as per the manual for initial build). The car gave me so much more confidence to push harder and acheive better lap times. Please bare in mind this is the first modern car I have owned after returning from a 25yr break so compared to the cougar 2000/95 spec advance in car performance is quite dramatic.

generally speaking lower grip tracks suit a ball diff. Don't know what the cross over point would be tho, i'm not that knowledgeable .
