Default TORCH 2WD Regional - Sun 4th Aug

Sunday 4th August is the TORCH round of the 2WD Mid South regional series we are looking forward to welcoming both visitors and local members to the event.

The timetable of the meeting will be:

Site open from 07:00
Two rounds of controlled 3 minute practice from 08:00
Drivers briefing at 09:40
Round 1 will start at 10:00

The meeting format will be:

4 x Rounds of qualifying with Round by round format
3 x leg A finals
1 x leg finals for B downwards

TORCH are using My Laps RC4 decoder, therefore non AMB PTs will not be counted.

Driver detail changes, please email info@torchracing.org with email title of "BRCA 2WD regional"

There will be a food van - please support.

DMS Racing and Insideline Racing will both in be in attendance with trackside shops - probably worth letting them know if you have any special requirements.

The cost to race for those who are pre-booked is £10, limited booking in on the day may be available at the cost of £15. The open classes (4WD buggy if enough interest) are all £5 to race pre-booked - £10 on the day. All booking in is on the DMS Results website - www.dmsresults.co.uk

As per BRCA rules, all LIPO batteries being charged MUST be inside a recognised LIPO sack (or similiar), anyone found not using one will be asked to leave the meeting.

Trophies for TQ and first place in all 2WD finals (BRCA regional class) -
no trophies for the open classes

Control tyres for the meeting are Schumacher mini spikes or Ballistic Buggy spikes on driven axles as per the BRCA national rules.

Please ask any questions on this thread or via info@torchracing.org and we will try and get back to you as quickly as possible.

Rob

Hello- I'm interested in running 2wd in the open class on Sunday as I've already scored points in another region (1rd at EPR even tho I sat out the finals) I presume this rules me out of this regional??
Also it doesn't mention on the DMS site about the open class when booking in?
Just looking practice so happy in an open class.

Thanks for any help- Paul Penney

Hi Paul

Yes, you are right, you can only score points in one region so if you have points already from another region you would not be able to compete in this region.

The 4WD class on the DMS website is effectively the open class so I suggest you book into this class. At previous rounds this has been a mixed class of drivers wanting to run 4WD at a 2WD round (or 2WD at 4WD) or drivers ineligible to compete in the regional event.

Hope to see you Sunday

Rob

Hi Rob,

I see that there is a food van coming (great!) - will the ice cream van be coming too like last last Sunday?

Thanks

I'm not racing in the 2wd Regional. As I've just started racing at TORCH club meets for the past few weeks in 4wd, will I still be able to race on Sunday?
Obviously I'm not a BRCA member or anything yet being a noob.

Hi

You would be very welcome to run 4WD in the open class.

However regardless of this being a regional you do need to sort your BRCA membership out for insurance purposes. You get 3 meetings grace before you must join in order to be insured. Please speak to Chris Spencer-Smith (Hotrodchris on here) who will be able to sort you out with membership forms for both the club and BRCA.

As far as the ice-cream van is concerned I'm not sure - Chris/Steve??

Thanks Rob. Sunday would be my 3rd meeting so would I be able to take the forms away so I can sort out payment for it on the 4th meeting?

Sam

You need to be a BRCA member to enable you to race Sunday, this is a regional and is not optional, if you bring cheque made payable to BRCA for £16 you can race, this is not a club meeting and this is a BRCA rule,

Any queries please get back to me on the day

Thanks Steve

Just to clarify as my advice above may not have been the clearest:

1. You must join the BRCA in order to be insured after 3 club meetings to continue racing at club meetings. This includes summer series meetings.

2. You must be a member of the BRCA to run in any class at the regional regardless of how many times you have raced.

Sorry for any confusion.

See you all tomorrow

Rob

I understand that Steve, in post #13 I was just asking as Sunday would be my 3rd meeting, would I still race as a non-member and then have to become a member for the following meeting? OR as its a BRCA meeting (regional) I'd still have to pay up regardless if its my 1st or 3rd meeting?

I Apologise for the confusion and if I'm annoying anyone wih this, My Chemotherapy is really getting me in a pickle remembering and undestanding things as you probaby would have seen with my driving!!! Lol

Yes you can dual class but just be ready for a busy day as 2 races plus two lots of marshalling means you need to be very organised. Grant and Steve have both managed in the past so it is do-able.
