Xcelorin Sensored Firmware - Bad Experience!

I see there is a newish update (june version 2.9) for this speedo. Has anyone upgraded yet? Last time i did this the new flash didn't work properly and i had to use the old image again until a fix was provided. Bit nervous about going with the update!
