Just heard that the L1 prototype ballraced yokes, as modified by HBI, have done getting on for four months of heavy racing. The front end has been stripped down for inspection and the ballraces have been declared as good as new. No signs of wear.



The test period included one head-on shunt that broke a front arm but did not damage the ballraces.


The mod was requested due to finding that the original bushes became sloppy after about six meetings, as shown on the second picture below.

The later hubs now have a harder steel insert so are lasting alot longer.
