Default Still good or outdated?

Been away from rc and racing the last 8-9 years.
I need a new sensored brushless esc and got a offer on a Orion R10.1 esc.
Is it still a good esc or is it as the title says outdated?
I have 3 speed passion gt2 esc from when i was racing but i guess they are really outdated.
What does a newer high end speedo do now compared to a high end speedo from around 2011?
Thanks in advance

Hi depends on the price, I use one and it is excellent, but if you are paying top dollar consider the Hobbywing XERUN - XR10 - Pro - V4-G2, my wife uses one in her b6.1 and it is excellent.
Get Wifi module and use your smart phone to set it up, far better than the Orion program box.

Nothing wrong with the GT2 if you've already got them.
Not as adjustable as newer stuff, or if you wanted to go silly on the motor end maybe not able to go as wild, but they're still OK.
Newer stuff like the XR10 already mentioned are v.smooth and have a great range of features that can be adjusted than in certain conditions can be handy.
I use xr10s in all my cars and they are excellent.
But if you're getting back into it, then I'd be tempted to stick one your gt2s in and have fun.

Speed passion gt2 will take hobbywing v2.1 software, giving them better adjustments and also turbo function.. when setup like this they are good speedo's
