2009 Regionals
All
I'm expecting to receive the National Calendar within the next 7 days so what clubs are up for running Mid East regional rounds in 2009 please? I already have interest from Holbeach and Hubarts Bridge. I would like to try and run 3 from 4 again although 4 from 5 may be an option if the calendar and club applications allow. Give us a bell if you want to discuss. Jim Balls - 07921 493579 BRCA Mid East 1/10th Off Road Rep. |

Broxtowe will definatly be wanting to hold a 2wd and 4wd again.
5 rounds of each class is good but wouldnt 3 from 5 be better than 4 from 5 as it doesnt leave much margin for error. What are other thoughts on this??

DB, Please Broxtowe are up for it again
Margin for error, whats the matter with ya, this is off road you know lol .. ok well we can discuss the technicallities if we get enough tracks to do 5 rounds, i can assure you it will be tight to fit them all in. James, would really like to run up at Blythe, if it needs to be around the national date we may be able to come up with something Jim |

If the region was to run 5 meetings, 3 from 5 would no doubt be the best format.
I personaly would like to see 3 from 5, with 2 Saturday & Sunday meetings, one over Lincoln side and one Notts side and the other 6 meetings being single day Sunday meetings. This way it would make it fairer being able to drop 2 results. And you would also be able to miss the odd meeting and still stand a chance. It would equate to the same amount of weekends as this year, 8 in all. Just my opinion and an idea |

Yep if Tony from Holbeach could do a two dayer, its a must that you sort the dates to when the Cowboys are in town Jim, the GP was a classic

West bridgford will definatly be up for it again. We have a rostrum but we might have to find a different venue as there are plans to build a dance studio on the current track . Rest assured we will sort something out though.

OK with my drivers hat on we have potential events at Holbeach, Broxtowe, Huberts Bridge, Blyth RHR and West Brigeford.
As the obvious round number is 2 & 4wd at each venue that would mean 10 weekends which may be difficult? So which clubs are up for both a 2 & 4wd event and who would be happy with just one event? A 2 day event sounds interesting if we can get enough drivers (who dont work on a Saturday) to attend both days. This could be a way to increase the number of qualifiers without increasing weekends. In an effort to help Jim out which clubs would be up for this? Regards Charlie. |

It would be interesting to see what the numbers would be due to peoples work commitments.
If we ran with it to get the extra round in, it might be an idea to have 1 of them - 2wd Sat & 4wd Sun and 1 of them 4wd Sat & 2wd Sun. Therefore anybody who can't do the 2 Saturdays could still do 4 rounds in each class. |

2 Saturday and Sunday meetings would be a great addition to the calendar. |

lets put it this way sharpy undulating is the word mate and the grass field is big too , plus indoor pitting if we need it with food and drink , would be nicer to do a two day meets plus we have the golf lodge right next to us too , but theres rooms to let around the corner too or ya could camp

WBMCC can probably do a saturday and sunday meeting, but we wouldn't be able to have any camping at our venue.

OK National Dates are released.
Here they are:- April 4 / 5 - Indoor Finals York May 9 / 10 - Talywain May 30 / 31 - Oswestry June 21 / 21 - Eden Park July 18 / 19 - Southport Aug 1 / 2 - Stotfold Aug 29 / 30 - Blyth Sep 5 / 6 - Kidderminster BRC / Jun / Vet Sep 19 / 20 - Broxtowe F3,F4,F5 So basically we have any weekend not used by these dates. For a Sun / Mon meeting that only leaves the May Bank Holidays or Easter. Thoughts on dates, and preference on running a regional the week berfore a National or the week after as they are pretty crammed in this year. Jim |
