Being a losi man john,i thought you would go for the jrxs type r.

I've raced this car for three years now, fantastic car.

You can go the xray way, but by the time you have built the thing a new version will be out.

With the losi you have a lipo freindly chassis, i run the lrp 5300 40c fits no problem.

If you are going to dudley on sunday i will bring it with me so you can judge for yourself.

As for spares dms racing has everything in stock but may not be needed as car is very strong with minimal breakages in the three years iv'e had it (full spares box as proof).

Hi JT, not wishing to disagree with "Spindles" (thanks for the mention by the way ), but I have driven the Losi JRXS-Type R at our local club at a reasonable level over the last three years since it came out and have not lost a championship with it since, however, not quite sure how Spindles has got an LRP 5300 in there since I found these impossible to fit.

I run the Vampire LIPOs and have had to resort to using the 4000mah (smaller) ones since their 5200 was just simply too tall (and it is the same size as the LRP). LIPO's will fir the Type-R BUT they are a squeeze and you may well need to space the two layshaft pullies further apart for them to fit without fouling..

Dont get me wrong, I ran 4000 35C in mine and they were fine for speed etc, but that car was the ONLY reason I had the samller LIPO's in my box. With 40C versions coming through now in 4000mah, you would not have a problem with somthing like them...

The 4000's were 137.5mm x 46.5mm x 23mm and simply by spacing out the two layshaft pullies as far as was possible, these went straight in the larger 5200's which didnt fit were 137.5mm x 46.5mm x 25mm and the extra 2mm made them foul on the rear bulkheads.

Info and sizes on the cells can be seen here - http://www.vampire-racing.com/Batteries.html

I will speak to you on sunday john as to where and what i race on.

With the lrp lipo it fits, all you have to do is remove two battery lugs from the non terminal end of the case and turn it over so the lable is facing the lower chassis job done.

I would not reccomend removing parts of the LIPO casing to make them fit...
